Under IDEA, SDI involves adapting the content, methodology, or delivery of instruction to address a student's unique disability-related needs.
That means IEP teams should be able to explain WHAT they're teaching, HOW they're teaching it, and how instruction is tailored to the student.
Parents, ask your IEP team: “What specific instructional adaptations are being used to meet my child's needs?”
Because effective instruction should be more than a vague statement in an IEP!
