A UNANIMOUS Supreme Court decision changed the standard for disability discrimination claims in schools! ⚖️
In A.J.T. v. Osseo Area Schools, the Supreme Court ruled 9–0 that students bringing disability discrimination claims under Section 504 or the ADA should not face a higher legal standard than plaintiffs in other contexts.
Families no longer have to satisfy the special “bad faith or gross misjudgment” requirement previously applied in some educational cases.
An important victory for equal treatment under disability rights law!
