Their Reality Matters Even When We Don’t Understand It

Sometimes the most important intervention is simply listening. A child’s reality doesn’t have to make sense to us for it to be real to them. Before correcting the behavior, we have to make sure they know, “I hear you. You matter. Your experience matters.”
