If a teacher can’t ask questions about an evaluation, how are they supposed to understand and use it?
This educator says she was told she could ask questions privately, but not during the eligibility meeting because staff didn’t want the parent questioning whether the evaluation had been fair.
Her response went straight to the issue: Was the evaluation fair?
As the person expected to take that evaluation data and use it to support the student, she needed to understand what the results actually meant. Questions aren’t automatically accusations. Sometimes they’re exactly what a team needs to reach a clearer understanding of the student.
