It’s not a reward.
And it’s definitely not something that should be changed without parent knowledge and team discussion.
For many students, AAC is their voice.
Taking away or changing a communication system without proper collaboration can directly impact a student’s ability to:
• Express needs
• Participate in learning
• Communicate safely
• Access their education
Communication access matters.
And schools have a responsibility to support AAC with the same level of importance as any other communication method.
Because every student deserves the right to be heard.
