Caregiving shouldn’t always fall on one parent.
When so much of a child’s care depends on one person, stepping back can be difficult. For this family, that meant Dad becoming more familiar with Kennedy’s care and Mom learning to give him the space to step in.
It also created something important for their other child: more time with Mom, instead of the family always falling into the pattern of “Mom with Kennedy, Dad with Jacob.”
