Looking back, Karen recognizes how much attention her son’s disability required. His needs were immediate and demanding, and naturally, so much of the family’s focus centered around him.
There may not be regret, but there can still be reflection. What did the siblings experience? What did they need during those years? What do we understand now that we couldn’t see clearly then?
