Most special education teachers aren’t lacking commitment. They’re trying to stay above water.
Imagine opening the software you’re expected to use and finding forms you’ve never been trained on. You don’t know when they’re required, how to complete them, or whether they even apply to the student in front of you.
That’s the gap this educator experienced. Teachers may genuinely want to do the job well, but good intentions can’t replace clear training, practical guidance, and ongoing support.
If we expect strong IEP implementation, we have to equip the educators responsible for making it happen.
