“Report the teacher!” isn’t always the answer.

Not every problem at school should start with a licensing complaint.

Because when you file against someone’s credential or license,
you’re talking about their career, reputation, and livelihood.

That doesn’t mean concerns should be ignored.

But it does mean we should ask:
👉 What is the actual issue?
👉 Has it been addressed through the proper channels?
👉 Is this a training issue, communication issue, or something more serious?

Most educators are doing the best they can with the support and training they’ve been given.

And many situations can improve through:
• Coaching
• Clear communication
• Documentation
• Administrative support
• Proper escalation pathways

That’s why it’s important to go step-by-step:
Teacher → Lead → IEP Chair → Administration → District

Advocacy should focus on solving the problem and supporting the student—not escalating faster than necessary.

And when possible, growth and accountability should come before devastation.
