But he says he encountered students whose needs raised questions about whether an initial evaluation was warranted. In his experience, there could be reluctance to pursue an initial FIE for an older student, particularly when that student had been in the district for years.
A student’s age or grade level shouldn’t stop the team from asking an important question: Do we have enough information to understand this student’s needs?
